Wayne West
March 18 1967 - March 16, 2026 (age 58)
Wayne Lee West, of Nibley, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Monday March 16, 2026.
Born, March 18 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to AnnaLue and Lee West, Wayne was the first of three born to them, but the fifteenth of seventeen children of a yours, mine, and ours Family
He attended schools in the Cache County schools, graduating from Mountain Crest in 1985.
Wayne was truly born to be wild. He always thought cars and bikes were meant to fly. Not only in speed but literally to fly through the air. At the age of four, he was jumping his bike over dirt mounds in the field. By the time he was eight, he had moved on to a small dirt bike. At the age of 24 Wayne started using his car and his motorbike to jump over cars.
In 1995, Wayne started Smash and crash entertainment, to promote Demolition Derbies in Oregon, where he would perform his jumps for half time entertainment. He continued until July 28, 2000, when he returned to Cache Valley to perform his final jump. A few years later he would start Trash Car Racing. Wayne returned to Logan, to live in 2016, bringing with him Trash Car Racing to entertain his friends of Cache Valley.
Wayne followed somewhat in his dad’s footsteps, becoming a welder. However instead of welding big buildings, He was more of an artistic welder. Welding art pieces, handrail, and venturing to building trailers, sand rails, boats and motorcycles, from scratch. He enjoyed using a plasma cutter to cut and design his artwork. He was the proud owner of Wild West Welding in Salem, Oregon.
Wayne always had a love for wildlife. From a young age he could be found chasing snakes and frogs, other wild critters, and most of all the girls. As a teen, he developed a love for hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors, which extended to a love for the ocean when he moved to Oregan.
Wayne was an avid jokester; he would never pass up they opportunity to tell a joke. But he truly enjoyed playing jokes on others, rather you were family, friends, or total strangers. To his last breath, he was always getting the last laugh.
Wayne is the proud father of 3 wonderful kids Devon, Cheyenne, and Chantry. He was a true family man, enjoying every moment he could with his family. He enjoyed teaching them how to have fun, taking them on motorcycles, four wheelers, sand rails, and taking them out crawfishing or deep-sea fishing. As the 19 grandchildren came along, they brought out a tender side of him that was heartwarming to see. He loved being the “Wild and Fun papa”.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Lee West; 3 Sisters LueAnn Nelson, Denice (Lou) Hoppie, and Jolyn Rogers; 4 Brothers Jim West (RayeLyn), Robert West, Russell West and Tom West.
