ROBERT CRAIG DOWNS
1980- 2024

April 21, 1980 a tow headed blue eyed baby boy was born in Logan, Cache County, Utah to Jeffrey Owen Downs and Mary Allison Maughan. He was named Robert Craig Downs and was always known as Craig. This small lad waxed strong and grew up in Cache Valley where he gained his education and had a happy and fun filled life with eleven step and half- brothers.

After eleven years of faithfulness with Krista LeAnn Gibson he and Krista were married o June 7, 2018. He loved being a dad to Draco and Jayden, he never used the word step sons to describe or refer to them. In their elementary years he walked with them to school to make sure they were safe at all the busy traffic crossings. He taught them to bike and to fish and many happy hours were spent on long bike rides and fishing trips. On April 13, 2011--- a small daughter was added to their family and named Mary Dawn, this was a proud and happy day for Craig and he loved every minute of it. He loved getting to do doing the “Dad stuff” as he called it, Daddy- daughter dates and adding Mary to the fishing trips where she often caught the biggest fish. Craig and Krista had a very happy, silly, never too serious, beautiful life together. Craig would say it was his duty to make Krista and the kids laugh each and every day. Craig loved being of service to his friends and family, especially to his grandmother Eve, Craig loved Grits for breakfast and when Grandmother returned from a long stay in England, he didn’t say welcome home Grandmother, he said “Oh boy, Grits”. Grandmother recalls when we had an earthquake, Craig was on the phone to check on her before that quake stopped shaking.

Craig was multi-talented and enjoyed time and work with his father Jeff in the brick masonry trade, coming home covered with cement dust and mud and teasing his children it would be their turn to work with Grandpa tomorrow. He was an expert welder and worked at that trade. He enjoyed working in the building trade for several years and at Walmart for five years and was currently employed at JBS in Hyrum.
Many good days were had with Craig , he bought great joy and laughter to all he met. He Had many friends and a large family. Craig was greeted on the edge of the Summer Land by Grandfathers’ Robert Maughan, Jerry Downs,

Mother Allison Maughan, Uncle Bruce Maughan, and Father –in Law Mike Gibson. He is survived by Father Jeff Downs (Robin) wife Krista Downs, sons Draco and Jayden and daughter Mary downs. Brothers Mathew, Daniel, Jesse, Bret, Joshua, Lance, Adrien, and Bucky, Sisters Kelly, Annie, and Chelsie.
