Robert Andrews Obit

On St. Andrews Day November 20, 1949, Robert Jay Andrews was born in Logan, Utah, the youngest of three children of Jay Elwood Andrews and Fern Chugg. He died Monday, August 10, 2006, at Rocky Mountain Care Hospice. Robert graduated from Logan High School and LDS seminary. He fulfilled a mission to the Philippines.

He was active in the Boy Scout program and earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1966 along with many patches from camps and jamborees attended in the western states.

He attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and Central Wyoming College in Riverton,Wyoming, and worked for twenty-two years as a driver for Jackson Rock Springs Stages charter bus line.

After retiring, Robert was a regular visitor to the Cache County Senior Center providing word search puzzles for the other senior citizens to enjoy and occasionally donating a watermelon or cantaloupe to the kitchen to be shared with everyone. He was awarded the volunteer of the month plaque from the Cache County Senior Center for February 2003.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and older brother.

He is survived by a sister, Connie Servoos and her husband Richard, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a few close friends.

Robert spent the last four years at Rocky Mountain Care in Logan, Utah, as a resident and the last week in their hospice care. He liked to spend his days watching Western on his laptop and never seemed to tire of them.

A graveside service will be held at the Logan City Cemetery on Tuesday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m.
