Lynell Champlain Batt

May 21, 1954 — October 4, 2025

North Logan

Lynell Champlin Batt, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on October 4, 2025, in North Logan, Utah, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 21, 1954, in Logan, Utah, to Zachary and Helen Champlin.

Lynell grew up in a large and loving family with nine siblings: Kathy Nelson, Craig Champlin, Nancy Bolton (deceased), Jeff Champlin, Terry Moss, David Champlin, Paul Champlin, Beth Archibald, and Kim Jones. She was known from an early age for her creativity, kindness, and her ability to make everyone around her feel loved and seen.

In 1974, while working at Utah State University’s Printing Services, Lynell caught the eye of Cordell Batt, who saw her in a red sweater and immediately fell in love. The two were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple on March 20, 1975, beginning a life filled with laughter, service, and deep devotion.

Together, they raised eight children—Amanda Dana (Cameron), Dustin Batt (Brittany), Tyler Batt (Tandy), Cortney Batt (Amy), Jeffery Batt (Jessalyn), Alisa Adkins (Jake), Heather Batt, and Jordan Batt (Lisa)—who were truly her everything. Lynell’s love extended beyond her children to her 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored their Grandma.

Lynell was a woman of immense talent and heart. A gifted artist, she had an incredible eye for beauty and creativity, which she expressed through painting, sewing, quilting, interior design, and homemaking. Her kitchen was always filled with delicious meals and homemade treats, and she had a particular love for ice cream—one of life’s simple joys she never outgrew.

Her sense of humor, quick wit, and contagious laugh filled her home with joy. She was selfless and always found ways to serve others, often loving those who needed love the most. Her life was one of quiet service, compassion, and faith.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lynell served faithfully in many callings—including Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, Primary President, Nursery Leader, and Young Women Camp Leader more than fifteen times. She touched countless lives through her leadership, faith, and unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ.

Lynell and Cordell made their home in Mesa, Arizona, for 19 wonderful years before returning to Cache Valley, Utah, where they continued building a lifetime of memories with their children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zachary and Helen Champlin, and her sister, Nancy Bolton.

Lynell’s legacy is one of love, laughter, faith, and creativity. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Oct 10th at 11am at 1105 E 2100 N, North Logan, UT 84341, with a Family Gathering at 10:30 am prior to the service.
