With heavy hearts, the family of Kenneth Bruce Kidman announces his passing on May 25, 2026, at the age of 82. Bruce passed away in the Petersboro home he proudly built with his own hands in 1989—the same community where he was born, raised, and deeply rooted throughout his life.
Bruce was born on March 5, 1944, to Ken and Nettie Kidman. He was the third of four children and grew up working alongside his father and grandfather on the family farm, where he developed the strong work ethic and determination that guided him throughout his life. He graduated from South Cache High School and went on to build a remarkable career as an entrepreneur and craftsman.
At just 19 years old, Bruce became the founder and owner of Custom Manufacturing, earning a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, integrity, and hard work. His work can still be found throughout the community today, including in local schools, homes, hospitals, and courthouses. Later, he founded and operated another successful business, Treehugger Inc., continuing his legacy of innovation and dedication. Throughout his career, Bruce received numerous business and hunting awards that reflected both his talent and his passions.
Sports were among Bruce’s greatest lifelong joys. After long days of work, he could often be found enjoying some of his favorite pastimes, including water skiing and golf. He loved refereeing games, attending rodeos, and cheering from the sidelines at basketball and football games. Watching his children and grandchildren compete brought him tremendous happiness. His family often joked that he could fall asleep during a game, but the moment someone changed the channel, he would instantly wake up and say, “I was watching that.”
Bruce also had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. An avid hunter, he cherished the memorable hunts, stories, and experiences shared with family and friends that became treasured lifelong memories.
Known for his quick wit and playful spirit, Bruce was a natural prankster who delighted in bringing laughter to those around him. He will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his devotion to family, his sense of humor, and the lasting impact he made on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bruce married Janna Kidman on August 20, 2002, and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Nettie Kidman, and his brothers, David and Stephen Kidman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janna Kidman; his children Jeff, Lisa, Ali, Eric, Staci, Kevin, Mark, Audra(Aaron), Tyler, Shanna(Nick); grandchildren Brady, Dakota, Tallon, Carter, Mikaela, Ashton, Madalyn, Tanner, Aiden and Jaden; great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Wren, Brianne; and his sister, Jeanette(Jerry).
Funeral services will be held on June 13, 2026. A viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 12:30 p.m. 20 North 100 West, Mendon, Utah.
