It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karl James Lusk. Karl was born on August 19, 1965, in Tooele, Utah, to Orlin D. and Irene Lusk. He was the fourth of ten children and grew up in a lively and loving home alongside six brothers and three sisters.

Karl was raised in North Logan, Utah, where he attended North Park Elementary, North Cache Jr. High, and Sky View High School. He developed a lifelong love of music, playing the drums in the junior high band and teaching himself guitar. He also participated in wrestling and was active in the scouting program, earning the rank of Eagle Scout, an accomplishment that reflected his dedication, perseverance, and strong character.

Karl was a man of many talents and interests. He loved motorcycles and cherished riding through the canyons of Northern Utah with family and friends. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and skiing, embracing both the beauty and adventure of the outdoors he loved.

From an early age, Karl learned the value of hard work, family, and service. He worked for many years in the construction field, where he developed notable artistic skills in carpentry and took immense pride in his craftsmanship. Karl was known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit. He was always willing to help, freely offering his time and talents, and he found real joy in serving others.

In addition to his work in construction, Karl served for several years as a line firefighter with the North Logan Fire Department, further reflecting his commitment to service and his willingness to put others before himself.

Karl’s courage throughout decades of illness and his battle with cancer was nothing short of extraordinary. His life stands as a testament to resilience, loyalty, and enduring love.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Orlin D. and Irene Lusk. He is survived by his son, Jeremiah Lusk (Brista), and their children, Jace and Rieller, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings: Scott Lusk (Ann), Will Lusk (Brenda), Debra Brog (Dan), Kristine Thurgood (Blaine), Angie Drollinger (Kevin), Kevin Lusk, Michael Lusk (Amber), Doug Lusk (Peter), and Mark Lusk.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at McKay-Dee Hospital for the compassionate and loving care they provided during Karl’s time there. Their kindness and support meant more than words can express.

Karl will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His absence leaves a space that words cannot fill, but his strength, generosity, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
