Junius Alma Hansen

Junius Alma Hansen, age 86, continued to the next step on his eternal journey on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

He was born August 4, 1938 in Downey, Idaho to Fredrick Neils Hansen and Nettie Hodges Hansen.

When he was 2 days old, he had a stroke and the doctor told his parents that he wouldn't live out the week. This set the stage for a lifetime of challenges which he met head on. 

Junius spent his life in Newton and attended Newton Elementary School.

From a young age, Junius demonstrated a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility by working for several farmers in Newton and Cache Junction. He then worked as a janitor at the new Sky View High School then Grand Central, Bournes and Thiokol.

Junuis' pleasures in life were simple. He had a great love of horses. He also  loved the independence that his side-by-side gave him to get around town and spend time in the foothills of Newton.

Junius is survived by one brother-in-law, Wesley Scott and numerous nieces and nephews,

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers Keith and Kenneth and sisters Bonnie and Merle.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 10, 2025 at noon at the Newton Church. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10:30 - 11:30 AM.

The family would like to thank Karmen Reese and the staff at Terrace Grove for the loving care they gave Junius and the people  of Newton that were always there for him. A special thanks goes to his good friends, Kevin Rhodes and family.

Until we meet again, you are missed beyond words and loved forever.
