Golden Wesley Barrett III—known lovingly as “Wes” or “Wesley”—passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, just weeks shy of his 76th birthday. He was surrounded by love at Logan Regional Hospital, with his family by his side.
Wes was born on June 25, 1949, in Compton, California, to his incredible parents, Golden Wesley Barrett Jr. and Joycelyn Lianora (Lambrose) Barrett. He lived his dream of retiring to the countryside in Plymouth, Utah, where he enjoyed a quiet life with his museum of antiques, his dogs, chickens, and the open air.
Wes is survived by his children: Danielle Rasmussen, Andrea Eversull, Clair Barrett (Renelle Barrett), Jamie Ruggles (Josh Ruggles), and Jade Barrett; 22 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind four beloved sisters—Diane Mullaly, Lauren Dailey, Cheryl Atkinson, and Lisa Barrett—as well as his sister-in-law, Lynette Barrett, and his two loyal pups, Jack and Fred.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Barrett; his brother, Murray Barrett; and his parents, Golden and Joycelyn Barrett.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21st, at the Logan 1st Ward, located at 89 South 200 West, Logan, UT 84321. A viewing will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by funeral services at 1:00 PM.
Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to ABATE of Utah – Logan Peak Chapter, and to the many friends and loved ones who have reached out with support. Every call, message, and gesture of kindness has meant the world to us and will be cherished forever.
Our dad was truly one of a kind—the best anyone could ever ask for. His stories, his love, and the memories we hold will keep him alive in our hearts forever.
