Gary Lamar Loveland November 21, 1937 - July 21st, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Gary Lamar Loveland (November 21, 1937 – July 21, 2026). Gary, age 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short battle with a rare disease. He was a devoted husband to Linda Rose Loveland and a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Gary was born in Fish Haven, Idaho, to William Earl and June Wilkes Loveland, and was raised alongside his brother, Garth. In 1958, Gary married his true love, Linda Rose King, and they were just one month shy of celebrating 68 wonderful years together, spent mostly in Logan, Utah. They were sealed in the Logan LDS temple on June 24, 1964.

A dedicated provider, Gary often worked up to three jobs at a time. He served on active duty in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He was deeply passionate about his 20-year career as a firefighter for the Logan City Fire Department, retiring in 1984. Gary was also a gifted mechanic who started a business with his brother, and he later worked as the general maintenance man at the Best Western Weston Inn for 12 years. He was happiest spending time with his family and traveling the country on his motorcycle, and he will always be remembered for his loving strength and outgoing personality.

Gary is survived by his wife, Linda Rose; his children, Lamar Earl Loveland, Garry Lynn Loveland, Jana (Darrin) Waite, Tara (Douglas) Wiser, Jara (Brad) Priestley, and Kama (Ernie) Larum; 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and his two dogs, Presley and Kandee. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tana Junell Worthen; his brother, Garth, and sister-in-law, Connie Loveland; and his granddaughter, Trista Lee Ferrier.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Walker and his staff, Logan Intermountain Health Hospice, Logan Regional Hospital, and Brad and the staff at Cache Valley Mortuary for their kind and gentle care.
