Frank Courtney Carbaugh Jr.

August 22, 1940 — May 27, 2026

Logan

Closing bell for Frank Courtney Carbaugh Jr. rang on May 27, 2026, at 12:45 pm. He met his richest portfolio, Karen Marie Gaw, at age 14 in Torrance, California and they married in July 1961. He always said his “greatest investment were his children.” George Gill Carbaugh (Cheri), Joseph Courtney Carbaugh (deceased), Victoria Lynn Conger (David), Suzann Marie Nelson (Jeff), Samantha Leigh Borden (Brad), Linda Kristine Gee (Jason), and Donna Louise Haslam (Jeff). As his portfolio grew, he gained 14 grandchildren: David, Dallon, Zach, Quintin, Wyatt, Kaila, Josie, Courtney, Charleigh, Colby, Audrey, Dillon, Claire, Bronte, plus 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Frank was born on August 22, 1940, to Frank and Bette in Omaha, Nebraska. He had two younger sisters, Karen and Kim. He is preceded in death by his wife Karen, married for 50 years, and his son Joe. He later married Charlene Noack in 2014 until his passing.

He enjoyed family gatherings, barbequing (he grilled the best burgers), shooting off bottle rockets and feeding horses with grandkids, watching his tomato plant grow, sitting under the trees in his backyard, and of course watching the stock market daily.

We want to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for their exceptional care, with special thanks to Rhiannon and Wendy, and the employees of Williamsburg Retirement Community. Because of dad’s love of ice cream, we’d like to thank everyone who dished ice cream for him at all hours of the day.

In honoring Dad’s personal wishes, no formal funeral or graveside service will be held.
