Dorothy Alice West, lovingly known as “Dottie,” passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, at Logan Regional Hospital, surrounded by family. She was 90 years old.
Dottie was born on September 4, 1934, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to William Elliot Delk and Hellen Marie Casgrove. She spent the later years of her life in Clarkston, Utah, and previously lived for many years in Preston, Idaho.
Dottie had a vibrant spirit and lived a full life marked by hard work, adventure, and deep devotion to her family. She worked for many years as the Personnel Manager at Logan Manufacturing, where she earned the respect and friendship of colleagues and staff alike.
In her younger years, Dottie had a deep love for adventure, spending many hours scuba diving to explore the mysteries of the underwater world. She also enjoyed bowling and skiing, and was an active and dedicated member of her church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rick J. West; her daughter, Terre Ann Hardman; and her son, Chuck McDowell. Dottie is survived by her children: Jerry McDowell, Shelly Ann Spencer, Mike McDowell, JoAnne Cain, Mary Purpari, John McDowell, Kelley Buttars and Marie Justice. She also leaves behind 20+ grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory and the love she gave so freely.
Her strength, kindness, and gentle humor will be remembered by all who knew her.
