Mom is reunited in the next life with friends and family who have gone before her. Loved ones she missed for so long. Where she can continue her legacy of spreading love and kindness to all around her. She will be missed deeply, but the warmth she gave so freely will continue to live on in all who were lucky enough to know her.
Her faith, her family, and her friends were the center of her life. In her later years, she found great joy in visiting those she loved, spending time in the temple, and staying closely connected to the people who mattered most to her. She lived fully and faithfully, right up until the end.
Carol Ann Chipman was born April 15, 1949 in Okmulgee OK to Robert Chipman and Maria Blanca Vargas. The third child of five. She was a devout Catholic in her youth, and continued her faith as a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints throughout her adult life. She graduated with her nursing degree from Brigham Young University. After graduating, she served a mission for her beloved LDS church – spending 18 unforgettable months in Bolivia, as a health missionary.
She married Kent Ralph Gwilliam on April 23, 1976. Together, Kent and Carol raised a bustling, lively, loving, and sometimes chaotic family of nine children. Carol loved being a mother, and she gave her whole heart to her children, creating a home filled with care, strength, and unwavering support.
Carol worked as a nurse for 45 years of her life. And she loved her time as a nurse, caring for patients, building life-long friendships with those she worked with, side-by-side.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Craig, and her youngest son Ben, and two little ones that passed at birth, Christina and Emliee. She is survived by her children – Julia, Burt, Marilyn, David, Richard, Maria, Catie, and Carol. Her siblings: Al, Cathi, and Debbie. And her 36 grandchildren.
