Arthur James Turner

December 19, 1952 — May 15, 2025

Smithfield

Our husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Arthur James Turner, completed his life's mission on May 15, 2025. He was born on December 19, 1952 to James Russell Turner and Jean Olive Mawson in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia, a place he called home for his first 30 years. He began building his own yachts at the age of 8, and won several racing championships. He loved sailing, and dedicated most of his leisure time to his craft prior to getting married.

He met missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was 25. He was baptized before he ever heard a lesson or knew anything of the Church. He followed a prompting, nothing more. He later met Vicki Lynne Anderson, who was serving her mission in Australia. After she completed her service, they were married in Lismore, Australia on February 26, 1982. He immigrated to the United States in December of 1982 and was never able to return to his home country.

Arthur and Vicki were sealed in the Logan Utah Temple in 1985 for time and all eternity. Their marriage lasted 43 years on this earth. He loved being the life of the party and enjoyed making people laugh, but his greatest legacy is the family he created with Vicki. The faith they demonstrated in having each one of their children is something for which we owe a debt of gratitude. Arthur leaves behind his forever loving and supportive wife, Vicki, and their seven living children: Dustin (Paola), Ashley Lamb (Kiley), Cody, Bo (Stacy), Brock (Danielle), Roman (Jory), and Katelyn Radle (Gregory). He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, a brother, & two sisters.

He is reunited with his parents and a sister, who have received him with joy and celebration. Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at 451 S. 250 East Smithfield, Utah.
