February 6, 1955 - May 25, 2015
LOGAN - How are you? I would say "Pretty Good," but I am not pretty or good and apparently now a little past my prime! In my home on May 25, 2015, I said my final good-byes to my loving wife Dana, my beautiful daughters,Misha and Cassidy, and to the light of my life, my granddaughter Kira. I had the great honor and pleasure of taking care of her since the day she was born! I couldn't have asked for a better title than being a "Papa"!I came into this world kicking and screaming Feb. 6, 1955, in LaPaz, Bolivia, to loving parents, Peggy and Gonzalo Palza, and an older brother JG. My younger siblings Michael, Ana, Leslie and Sheila soon joined us in creating memories and causing trouble (or was that just my job)! We were a traveling circus, and we definitely traveled and lived in many places. Eventually our travels landed us in Logan, Utah, and going to school at Utah State University. This is where I met my beautiful wife Dana. Who knew a bowling class would lead to a marriage of 32 years, two beautiful daughters, a son-in-law don't hat, and a granddaughter who made every day worth living?! Dana and I were married after much coaxing and pleading Oct. 2, 1982, in Moab, Utah.My last trip will be to see my parents and my favorite oldest sister-in-law Francis in Heaven. I leave my brothers, sisters and loving family to continue my legacy of bad jokes, hard work, and good food!Speaking of good food (Dana will not be cooking!), please come and share in the memory of my life and accomplishments at an Open House on Saturday, May 30, from 2 to 5 p.m. at my home, 536 East Center Street in Logan. I have passed on many of my favorite recipes to my children, who will be preparing them in my honor. Please share memories with my family then or at www.cvmortuary.com as I do not wish to have a public viewing or funeral.Family and friends don't be sad for me.I am at peace, my soul is now free.I have taken my place among the stars.I am now free to be where you are.I am the whisper in the wind and the song in your heart,I am the strength in your soul and the love you impart.I'll always be with you and I'll always care.Don't be sad for me cause I'll always be there. My family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to them or to the ALS Association.I was never very good at good-byes, so I will say "Chow Chow for now!"
